Childrens Kitchen Helps Teach Balanced Nutrition to Your Little Ones

Does your child only wish to have chicken or burgers? Nowadays our children appear to wish to have only food that is from junk food establishments such as McDonalds or pizza places. As a parent it is our job to change how they eat and how they view food. This can be accomplished with help from a childrens kitchen. According to the United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service, each day your child should eat a balance of food types.

The first thing is you must choose multi grain foods. This kind of food should be eaten more than the other groups of food. They should be whole grain bread, brown rice, or oatmeal. Even low fat popcorn is a component of this type of foods.

Second is to vary their vegetables. These vegetables are spinach, broccoli, carrots, and sweet potatoes. Do you know that sweet potatoes may lower your blood pressure? The greener the vegetables the better, but you want to change it with orange vegetables. Having them with your child would keep both of you healthy. Getting your child the kids play kitchen and the cutting play food sets that include a green cucumber, yellow apple, orange carrot, yellow-brown french baguettes, watermelon, green pepper, wheat bread and red tomato is a wonderful way to introduce veggies to your child.

I myself have tried dieting but it didnt seem to work. So I switched my method and targeted on fruits. So what I am doing is to consume fruits before I start to eat my main meal. That way I will not eat too much meat but have a more nutritious diet. So instead of providing your child Twinkies, crackers or marshmallows for nibbles give them fresh fruits. Try to keep away from fruit juice because they've a large quantity of sugar.

Rather than juice, serve your child reduced fat milk, yogurt and other milk products one or two meals each day. These foods are rich in calcium. According to the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences, they advises that for your one to 3 year old children should have 5 hundred mg each day of calcium, eight hundred mg each day for children who are 4 to eight years of age and 1,300 mg a day for 9 to eighteen years of age.

So please choose food and beverages that do not have sugar and sweeteners as their number one ingredient. It is always good to start teaching our youngsters good nutrition while they are still young.
